Ariel and Yenta have spent the entire afternoon down by the pond, swooping up froggies in search of that one perfect prince. The duo filled an entire bucket before Ariel came across "a keeper!" Ariel, our first copper-haired doll, wears a cotton dress, a slip, pantaloons, and a silk flower hair garland. She holds a real net in one hand and, in the other, her frog prince-made of resin, hand-painted, and complete with a gold crown...and a goofy grin! Yenta, her royal watcher, keeps an eye on the cast-offs (hand-painted resin frogs in a resin pail). This piece is inspired by doll artist Julie Good-Kruger's own daughters, who spent many a summer afternoon scooping up frogs in the ponds near their home.
